The Gheys Are Separate... But Are They Equal?

Texas Christian University to Offer Separate Housing for Gay Students
Eight students have signed up for Texas Christian University's designated on-campus housing for gay students and their supporters, in what may be the only such college housing in North Texas.

The DiversCity Q community will open in the fall in a section of the Tom Brown-Pete Wright apartments. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender students and allies — heterosexual classmates who support them — will have the chance to live together, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in a story posted Tuesday on its Web site.

"It's a chance for students to be part of a unique experience," said David Cooper, TCU associate director for residential life.
Yes... apparently the "unique experience" they're talking about is better known as "segregation". So all this brouhaha about equality is just so gays can move into a residence hall ghetto. Yeah that make sense... No, no it doesn't.

A Prime Directive?

Isolated Tribe Spotted In Brazil
One of South America's few remaining uncontacted indigenous tribes has been spotted and photographed on the border between Brazil and Peru.

The Brazilian government says it took the images to prove the tribe exists and help protect its land.

The pictures, taken from an aeroplane, show red-painted tribe members brandishing bows and arrows.

More than half the world's 100 uncontacted tribes live in Brazil or Peru, Survival International says.

Stephen Corry, the director of the group - which supports tribal people around the world - said such tribes would "soon be made extinct" if their land was not protected.

Look at how they're reacting to an airplane flying overhead. What must they think? Imagine their conversations. It's beyond their comprehension. They're aiming their weapons at it - they obviously fear it. And think about this. They know nothing about the American Revolution, Islam, World War II, Nuclear weapons, computers, the internet, men walking on the moon, Christianity, Van Gogh, Dali, Madonna, American Idol. We, and our civilizations, are beyond anything they can conceive of. These people know nothing about our world. That brings up another good point: it's their world too, and no matter how primitive it looks to us, they deserve to have it without our interference. We need to stay as far away from them as possible.

Hiding Behind Words

Something is making me gag, and it's not the air pollution in Beijing. Have you heard the latest buzz words that the communist dictators of China are hiding behind? Olympic Spirit; get used to it, it's all you're going to hear between now and the close of the games.
"Linking the Darfur issue to the Olympic Games will not help to resolve this issue and is not in line with the Olympic Spirit that separates sports from politics," BOCOG said.

China is on the defensive against critics using the Games to spotlight the communist regime's curbs on human rights, press freedoms, and religion.

"It is understandable if some people do not understand the Chinese government policy on Darfur," Foreign Ministry spokesman Liu Jianchao said. "But I am afraid that some people may have ulterior motives, and this we cannot accept."
Now, I don't necessarily expect the Chinese to solve the crisis in Darfur on their own. After all the United States has been woefully absent on the issue as well. But everyone, including Beijing, could put a lot more pressure on the Islamic government in Khartoum. For me it's more a matter of the barbaric offenses against human rights in the People's Republic. The Olympics should be above politics, okay I can accept that; but above human rights? No.
