Awww... This Means Lynne Stewart Won't Be Able To Be A Part Of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed's Defense/Aid & Comfort Team...

Via Dr. Sanity: Common Cause With Theocratic, Homophobic, Misogynistic Psychokillers
I just happened to notice this today from Andy McCarthy at The Corner:

A panel of the Second Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals has upheld the convictions of my old adversary, Lynne Stewart, for providing material support to terrorism — i.e., helping the Blind Sheikh run his Egyptian terrorist organization from U.S. prison, where he is serving a life-sentence. The convictions and sentences of the other two defendants were also affirmed. Lynne, who has been out on bail since being convicted eons ago, has been ordered to surrender to begin serving her sentence.

This is simply unbelievable! All this time I thought this leftist terrorist-sympathizer was in jail, and instead, she’s been galavanting around free to continue to create mischief and proudly proclaim her treason.
Too bad we don’t have the balls to execute traitors like Stewart these days.

I'm Sure Andrew Sullivan's Mea Culpa Will Be Coming Forthwith If It Turns Out To Be Insurance Fraud... Not...

AP sources: Probe eyes census worker's insurance
Investigators trying to solve the mystery of a census taker found hanging from a tree with the word "fed" scrawled on his chest are examining whether he manipulated the scene in order to conceal a suicide and make a life insurance claim possible for his son, law enforcement officials told The Associated Press.

The dead man's son, Josh Sparkman, said in an interview with the AP that he found paperwork for the private life insurance policy among the personal files of his father, Bill Sparkman, but wasn't sure of the amount or when it was taken out. He said authorities have told him nothing about the case and haven't produced a death certificate, which is usually needed to make an insurance claim.

Two law enforcement officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to discuss the case, said investigators were trying to determine whether Bill Sparkman committed suicide but altered the scene to make it look like a homicide, allowing his son to collect.
What!?! It doesn't appear to be crazy Southern populist terrorism, whipped up by the GOP and its Fox and talk radio cohorts you say? Who could of guessed? Check the strap on your CPAP mask Andy - it's on too tight again.

The Meaning Of The Bow...

Paul Mirengoff: Why does he hate us? Barack Obama's America-effacing presidency
Obama's antipathy toward America should come as no surprise. Although he has lived a rich and varied life, there has been one constant - exposure to the left's disparaging narrative about America.

Obama grew up in a radically left-wing household, attended elite colleges where a jaundiced view of America is orthodox, and spent the remainder of his formative years as a community organizer alongside the likes of former domestic terrorist Bill Ayers and the "God damn America" ranting Jeremiah Wright. No wonder Obama is serving up a "God damn American lite" presidency.
I hate to say I told you... Wait! No I don't... I told you so before you voted for him. A lot of us did. How's that "change" working out for you?

  • Indeed, it has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society.
  • A program of sterilizing women after their second or third child, despite the relatively greater difficulty of the operation than vasectomy, might be easier to implement than trying to sterilize men.

  • “We ought to ban hunting, I suggest, if there isn’t a purpose other than sport and fun. That should be against the law. It’s time now.”

Stupid Hippies

English Hippies Want Local Wi-Fi Network Turned Off
Turn off that Wi-Fi network — it's disturbing our chakras.

That's what many residents of Glastonbury, a lovely medieval town turned New Age hub in southwestern England, are demanding the local government do.

Ever since the town's free municipal wireless broadband network went online in May, people have been complaining of, as an online petition puts it, "headaches, dizziness, nausea, severe tiredness, brain fog, disorientation and loss of appetite, loss of balance, inability to concentrate, loss of creativity" — all ailments an examining physician would find it difficult to prove or disprove.

"This place is not appropriate for a Wi-Fi trial," resident Linda Taylor tells the local Fosse Way magazine. "People are complaining of headaches, tingling skin among other symptoms. This makes me wonder what is it doing to the children." [...]

One man has even begun making orgone generators, which use crystals, semi-precious stones and gold to purportedly put out positive energy to combat the negative vibes flooding the town from the Wi-Fi base stations.

"I have given a number of generators to shops in the High Street and hidden others in bushes in the immediate vicinity of the antennae. That way you can bring back the balance," Matt Todd told the Telegraph. "The science hasn't really got into the mainstream because the government won't make decisions which will affect big business, even if it concerns everyone's health."
I'll tell you what's it doing to the children, it's giving them a chance to access real health and science information that might be able to counteract some of the bullsh-t you're feeding into their soft little brains. If the wi-fi network isn't being used then take it down; but please don't turn it off just because these jello brained loonies think it's messing up their chakras. Sheesh!

Save A Bull - Vote McCain

Bull Awaits Obama Win In Kogelo Village
Senator Barrack Obama’s relatives have congregated at Nyangoma Kogelo village and will remain together until after Tuesday’s US presidential elections.

They have set aside a bull to slaughter in celebration should the Illinois senator whose father was Kenyan win, according to family spokesperson Mr Malik Abongo.
This must present quite the conundrum for PETA. I wonder what will be slaughtered if Obama loses?

The "Vulgarity" Of Patriotism

You're vulgar. That's what Garrison Keillor thinks of anyone who loves their country and says so out loud. Patriotism is a waste of time, which could be better spent reading books or wandering through exhibits and museums with one's effete nose in the air. Garrison can't even bring himself to write the name of the President, or even the word President! It's "Current Occupant" (of the White House), don't you know?

Now I like books and art, but they are no substitute for good old fashioned patriotism. So to Garrison I say: oh-be-gone, Mr. Keillor, oh-be-gone.

Obama Wants You To Go Hungry And Sweat This Summer So The World Will Like Us

Obama Camp Spies Endgame In Oregon
Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

After I read this story, I went and turned my AC down to 68 degrees, even though it was barely 70 outside.

I'm gonna have an extra big lunch too, and drive the long way to get to the restaurant. And I really don't care what Burkina Faso or Paraguay thinks about it.

Reverend Wright: Round Deux

Obama Says He's Outraged By Former Pastor's Comments
Democrat Barack Obama said Tuesday he was outraged by the latest assertion by his former pastor that criticism of his fiery sermons is an attack on the black church. [...]

"I gave him the benefit of the doubt in my speech in Philadelphia explaining that he's done enormous good. ... But when he states and then amplifies such ridiculous propositions as the U.S. government somehow being involved in AIDS. ... There are no excuses. They offended me. They rightly offend all Americans and they should be denounced."
Is it just me or does the Rev. Wright suddenly sound meaner and more strident this time around? Don't be fooled by this political theater. It's a ploy to allow Obama a "do over" in dealing with the controversy. I mean come on, after spending 20 years in Trinity's pews and his half-hearted response to the initial brouhaha, no one believes Obama doesn't agree with what that church teaches. So they're just replaying the whole issue again so Obama and all of his supporters can act righteously outraged and look like they've rebuked the good reverend.

UPDATE: Obama Campaign announces: A 'big press conference' on Wright (aka the climax in our little vignette's plot...) Watch out grandma, you're about to have some company under the bus.

Amy Holmes at NRO was more prescient than I
