Resisting terror is exhausting. It’s easier to appease it... ~ Mark Steyn

What signal does Barbie’s burka send?
The other day, George Jonas passed on to his readers a characteristically shrewd observation gleaned from the late poet George Faludy: “No one likes to think of himself as a coward,” wrote Jonas. “People prefer to think they end up yielding to what the terrorists demand, not because it’s safer or more convenient, but because it’s the right thing . . . Successful terrorism persuades the terrorized that if they do terror’s bidding, it’s not because they’re terrified but because they’re socially concerned.”

This is true. Resisting terror is exhausting. It’s easier to appease it, but, for the sake of your self-esteem, you have to tell yourself you’re appeasing it in the cause of some or other variant of “social justice.” Obviously, it’s unfortunate if “Canadians” get arrested for plotting to murder the artists and publishers of the Danish Muhammad cartoons, but that’s all the more reason to be even more accommodating of the various “sensitivities” arising from the pervasive Islamophobia throughout Western society. Etc. [...]

“And there’s no need for expensive accessories like books or cars or a life,” added Tim Blair of Sydney’s Daily Telegraph, “because Barbie in a Bag isn’t allowed to leave her home unless accompanied by a male relative (Mullah Ken, sold separately).”

Mullah Ken? I’m not so sure about that. Given the long-time rumours, Ken’ll be lucky not to find himself crushed under one of those walls the Taliban put up for their sodomite-rehabilitation program. You’ll be glad to know the dolls are anatomically accurate: Burka Barbie has no clitoris, and, just like Mohamed Atta on the morning of Sept. 11, Ken’s genital area is fully depilated.
Do you have to buy the Barbies in lots of 72 with a squad of jihadists from The Mattel Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice?

Feelings ... Woah Woah Woah ... Feelings!

A girls basketball team is being taken to task for winning. The Covenant School trounced the opposing team from Dallas Academy 100-0 and for that bit of excellence they must be punished. The school is seeking to forfeit the game and has already apologized on their website for winning "without honor" - whatever that means, though it seems meant to imply cheating. To top it all off, the coach of the winning team has been fired. Why? For refusing to apologize for coaching a winning team.

Rather than using this as an opportunity to teach the worsted team how to lose with grace and dignity it's been turned into a opportunity to shame and chagrin the team that won. All because the opposing team might have been made to feel bad. Remember, it's about feelings these days. You should hold back your excellence least you offend the less talented. Remember the liberal mantra: spread the mediocrity.

By nature all men are equal in liberty, but not in other endowments. ~ Thomas Aquinas

Potential. Wasted.

Obama to Lift Ban on Funding for Groups Providing Abortions Overseas
President Obama will issue an executive order on Thursday reversing the Bush administration policy that bans the use of federal dollars by non-governmental organizations that discuss or provide abortions outside of the United States.
Margaret Sanger would be so proud of President Obama (well, proud of his white half anyway...)

Eh What The Huh?!

Man Poses As Underwear Market Researcher, Pleads Guilty To Child Molestation Charges
Ben Hawkins pleaded guilty Wednesday to nine charges of importuning and three counts of gross sexual imposition.

Prosecutors in Hamilton County say Hawkins looked for boys and girls between the ages of 9 and 16. They say he arranged to meet parents and children at schools, hospitals or at their homes and told parents he needed to measure their children's underwear for research.
Okay, the "underwear market researcher" should be punished, but seriously who are these parents? Why are they allowed to still have custody of their children? At the very least they should be kicked in the head repeatedly.

A True Heroine

Sandra Samuel: A Heroine in Mumbai
The Holtzbergs were blessed with such a selfless, brave and heroic caretaker. There is no question that if it were not for the actions of Sandra Samuel, Moshe's nanny, he would not have survived the ordeal. Sandra was on the bottom floor of the Chabad House when the terrorists stormed in. She barricaded herself while she cowered from the shootings and bombings happening above her head. She did not dare leave her hiding spot until the next day, when the attacks seemed to have stopped. It was only then that she heard little Moshe crying.

She easily could have ran out, saving herself. It would have been understandable. After all, the terrorists didn't know that anyone was left inside alive. If they heard the crying, they would come back in to finish the job. It would have made most sense for her to get out of there as quickly as possible. But she didn't. She couldn't. Little Moshe was calling her name.

Sandra left her barricaded room and went upstairs for Moshe. She found him, next to his parents and soaked in their blood. She grabbed him and ran.

Miraculously, the terrorists who were still on the roof of the Chabad House didn't hear or see her or Moshe. Miraculously, this little orphan survived because of his caretaker who risked everything to save him.
Miraculous indeed. Thank you God for the strength you gave Sandra Samuel and for hiding her and Moshe from the eyes and ears of the evil men around them. Thank you Ms. Samuel for doing what the rest of us could only hope we would be brave enough to do.

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ~ John 15:13

First Take The Lego Out Of Your Own Toy Box

Lego-Style Islamic Terrorist Figurine Sparks Outrage
A Lego-style figurine resembling an Islamic terrorist strapped with explosives and made by a small American company has caused an uproar among Muslims and non-Muslims alike.

The controversial miniature figure, created by Seattle-based Will Chapman as part of his BrickArms military fighters line, is a bearded militant with a face-covering hood, a tiny toy assault rifle, a little grenade launcher and plastic bombs that can be attached to an explosives belt.

The character is called "Bandit — Mr. White" and sells for $14.

The jarring toy has outraged the British Muslim organization known as the Ramadhan Foundation, which called the figurine "absolutely disgusting," according to Sky News.

The foundation's chief executive, Mohammed Shafiq, complained that the toy is "glorifying terrorism."
I'm sorry, did you say "shocked"? How dare you feign shock over a toy when your own culture and religion uses children like this:
and this:

Personally, I think this toy is in bad taste at best, considering all the innocent lives that have been taken by terrorism. However, I'd prefer that you be "shocked" by the actual violence and murder perpetrated by your own people, Mr. Shafiq, before you start lecturing anyone else about "glorifying terrorism."

The Obama's Have A Choice, Why Shouldn't Everyone?

Obama Girls To Go To Sidwell
President-elect Obama and his wife have chosen Sidwell Friends School for their daughters, opting for a private institution that another White House child, Chelsea Clinton, attended.

"A number of great schools were considered," said Katie McCormick Lelyveld, a spokeswoman for Michelle Obama. "In the end, the Obamas selected the school that was the best fit for what their daughters need right now."

She said Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, "bring with them a number of security and privacy concerns that come with being part of the new first family — and the school they've selected is positioned to appropriately accommodate that."
I can't say that I blame the Obama's for choosing to send their kids to private school. I wouldn't let mine set foot in most public schools, and most certainly not in Washington, DC. Not to mention the fact that there are certain considerations for Sasha and Malia that the average parent doesn't face. But wouldn't it be nice if Barack and Michelle would support giving all parents a real choice in where to send their children for an education and making public schools compete directly with each other and private institutions?

Meanwhile, In Canada... Speaking Of The Reach Of The Courts...

In Canada they're subjecting your parental decisions to judicial review. Justice Kenburgstevouter must be salivating at the very thought...
A Canadian court has lifted a 12-year-old girl's grounding, overturning her father's punishment for disobeying his orders to stay off the Internet, his lawyer said Wednesday.

The girl had taken her father to Quebec Superior Court after he refused to allow her to go on a school trip for chatting on websites he tried to block, and then posting "inappropriate" pictures of herself online using a friend's computer. [...]

According to court documents, the girl's Internet transgression was just the latest in a string of broken house rules. Even so, Justice Suzanne Tessier found her punishment too severe.
This just makes you want to scream huh? The dad is appealing the ruling.

The best line is "you are an adult." Children say the darnedest things, huh? Is it possible to give Monica's seat on the council to Ms. Bell?

Creepy. Wrong. Shameful.

Hey Beyonce? What the hell are you thinking?

The sleaze is going younger and younger everyday. Beyonce and her mother have taken it to a new low with disgusting advertisements for their children's clothing line at the House of Deréon Disgusting:

Crap like this is considered perfectly acceptable, and yet parents act horrified when terrible crimes are committed against children. Gee, could there be a connection maybe?

What's the problem?

She was out of control and obviously is unacquainted with discipline. She refused to obey her teacher and her principal. She trashed the principal's office and physically lashed out at an adult. Behavior like this can absolutely not be tolerated. Not only should they have cuffed her, but she should have sat in a police car until her parents arrived.
