The Roanoke Times reports that America is once again kowtowing to the demands of a culture that treats women as second class citizens. Virginia Tech is allowing gender segregated classes for visiting Saudi students because U.S. officials don't want to "impress our culture on them."

Men and women from King Abdulaziz University are taking identical faculty development courses at [Virginia] Tech, but meet in gender-specific classes. Tech officials said administrators from the Saudi university separated the sexes to mirror classroom settings at their home institution, which operates separate campuses for men and women.
"This is the way they teach their courses over there, and this is the way they wish their courses to be taught over here," said Tech spokesman Larry Hincker. The university chose to respect the Saudi culture "rather than impress our culture on them," he added.

Well fuck that shit! Does "separate but equal" ring any bells? Do you think that
King Abdulaziz University (where these students study in Saudia Arabia) would allow a group of Americans to have mixed gender classes to keep from "impressing" Saudi "culture" on them? Hell no they wouldn't - and they shouldn't have too - its their country and if they want to live in the 12th century, more power to them. But if they want to study IN America - they should study LIKE Americans.
