More than 1,300 trucks carrying 17.1 million ready-to-eat meals were sent to the area, and law-enforcement officers have curtailed once-rampant looting, police said.Three hospitals had emergency power restored and were open after evacuating almost all the patients housed at the time of the storm.A street-by-street search began for survivors trapped in their homes and those who disregarded the evacuation order, Louisiana State Police Lieutenant Lawrence McLeary said. Officials also began recovering bodies today.
