Solid Ground

I must admit I'm feeling very helpless and hopeless. No word yet from family and friends in south Mississippi and on the coast. I was talking with a friend in Jackson; she is waiting on word from family as well. She told me that she went to a prayer service at church and they sang a hymn that really helped her. Now I don't pretend to be anything but a casual church goer, but my faith is important me, especially at times like these. The hymn is My Hope Is Built by William Mote (words) and William B. Bradbury (music).

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly trust in Jesus’ Name.

Refrain
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my Hope and Stay.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

When He returns with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand;
All other ground is sinking sand.

I know you have guts to come out like that about your sexual orientation and that you are a conservative. I don't agree with homosexuality but I have friends who are gay. I am no one's judge. I am a Christian and I do believe that it is a sin, however, I sin too. It doesn't make what I do right but really I am no different from you. I was online looking for the words to that song and I stumbled uppon your site. I do appreciate your honesty and please don't feel like I am judging you. I just think too many Christians condemn gays when that's God's job. If we claim that our faith is based on love, then we need to start showing it.
Anyway, I just thought it was cool that you had the song I was looking for on your site.
