Disregarding Helen
She also had another question at the ready, just in case, this one about the president's contention that a 28-year-old wiretapping law known as FISA is out of date, which prompted him to order the National Security Agency to conduct a secret electronic surveillance program that Democrats contend is illegal. Now you might think that's a very good question, but really it's no better than the idiotic "why did you invade Iraq" query she had first on her list.
"You keep saying it's a 1978 law, but the Constitution 200 years old. Is that out of date, too?"
While the Constitution is indeed over 200 years old, it has been amended as necessary to keep pace with a changing world. Unfortunately FISA has not received the same consideration, and thus is now the equivilent of 200 years out of date given the world we find ourselves living in.
Nice try Helen - but it's still way past your retirement time. Now off you go.
