Egypt Declines Search & Rescue Assistance from U.S., U.K., & Israel.

I wonder how sacrifice at sea fits into the Arab concept. Maybe the Egyptians don't want to hear more bad news about their seafarers.
If the captain was, as alledged, the first to leave the ship, will we read that he was going for help?

Please, any attempt to use this tragedy politically (as the earlier posts suggest) is unfounded, unfair and cruel. The 'west' does not have an exclusive on love and compassion. It was not so long ago that the US had a disaster response the world was shocked by...

I'm not trying to "use" it politically.

The point is that Egypt refused much needed and very skilled search and rescue help for so called "regligous" reasons. That's sad.

It also has nothing to do with the State of Louisiana and the city of New Orleans being so corrupt they were incapable of preparing for a natural disaster.

I wonder if any Egyptian liberals will exploit the victims while offering no real help like our liberals?
