Stand Your Ground In Georgia

A new law is working its way through the Georgia State Legislature - Senate Bill 396. It's already passed in the Senate.

The bill states that if a criminal breaks into your home, your occupied vehicle, or your place of business, you may presume he is there to do bodily harm and you may use any force against him, thereby removing your "duty to retreat." Furthermore, this law would provide protection from criminal prosecution and civil litigation for those who defend themselves from criminal attack. The bill also provides that if you are threatened or assaulted in a public place, you have the right to use deadly force to defend yourself.

Current law burdens citizens with a "duty" to retreat. Meaning you have to flee from criminals and give them access to your home or your property. Under the new law, you don't have to run, you can stand your ground.

And why should one have to flee their home or car? This law will give citizens the right to defend their life and property without fear of criminal or civil reprisals. That's the way it should be.

Extend "home" to "country" and we might have a way of defeating Islam.
