Tehran, Dubai To Strengthen Ties

Red Alert! From WorldNetDaily:
Senior officials of the Iranian government met with United Arab Emirates Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammad ben Rashid al-Maktoum today in Dubai with both sides pledging to strengthen relations in all areas. [ed: emphasis mine]
I'll say it again. It's a bad idea to let a Muslim country run part of our ports infrastructure. The UAE may be "cooperative" with the U.S. but it has a long way to go before it can be called a key ally. As Neal Boortz said:
"This, of course, is the same America-hating Iran that has called us The Great Satan and threatened to wipe Israel off the map. Iran supports terrorism. Iran has been sending fighters into Iraq to kill our troops. And the UAE is strengthening ties with these Islamic maniacs.

Al-Qaeda, which is known to receive support from Iran, would love to smuggle a nuclear device into the United States and kill hundreds of thousands of Americans in a single stroke. All it would take would be for one ports official in this Islamic government-owned company to look the other way."
Hopefully this news will be one more nail in this deal's coffin.

I think it would take a lot more than that. Dubai isn't taking over security, remember, that's still the Coast Guard and what not, who still scan for radiological activity.

Even if you don't believe that, why couldn't a British ports official be payed off to look the other way? However, UAE strengthening ties with Iran does worry me.

Don't you think it would be a little more likely for a Muslim to help a Muslim? I think it could happen in a heart beat.

They don't scan every container, and the company and its personnel would probably know how to get around the security procedures.

The UAE is always going to be Muslim first and a US ally last.
