Falwell Says He Won't Back Giuliani
WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Rev. Jerry Falwell doesn't see any Democrat making inroads with evangelical Christian voters in the next presidential election. Potential Republican candidate Rudolph Giuliani, the former New York city mayor, won't be scoring any points with Falwell, either.
"Everybody admires him. And I'll never forget the great things he did on 9/11 and following," Falwell said.
"But, of course, we have, as conservative Christians who take the Bible seriously, we have probably irreconcilable differences on life and family and that kind of thing," Falwell said Sunday on "Late Edition" on CNN.

Yep, it is a good reason. What's scary is how much influence Falwell has on the conservative community. It's sad to see a religion like Christianity, which teaches us to love each other, being misused and misinterpreted to justify a mis-guided social agenda. Oh well, at least there are some of us who understand what it means to be a Christian.
I have no love for Falwell, but I don't think Rudy's values line-up very well with my Conservative values. Rudy did some incredible things in New York, and he may be a strong nominee (assuming he runs), but I certainly hope that someone more conservative steps up.
Familiar with Falwell the Plagiarist? You will be if you put "Appendix F: Thou Shalt Not Steal" into the Yahoo engine. And to see the BIG researcher he leans on, type in "Thomas Ice (Bloopers)"!
I'd be more concerned about who Falwell endorses in these times than who he repudiates. He's the current Chief Parisee and his mob of fanatics are not looking for virtuous people at all. They are like the Wahabi's who nourish the Islamic terrorists; extreme, hateful and myopic. Quite frankly, and for that very reason, I don't cite them as conservative at all.
Why is the press giving Jerry Falwell any attention at all? Who cares what that guy thinks? He is certainly NOT a true christian in my eyes.
Falwell get's press because he perpetuates the antique media's mythos that all Christians are intolerant. They can hold him up as the quintessential mean religious figure. And of course - don't forget that Falwell loves the attention, good or bad.
