Iran Missiles Can Carry Nukes, Hit Europe
JERUSALEM — Iran has received a first batch of BM-25 surface-to-surface missiles that put European countries within firing range, Israel's military intelligence chief, Maj. Gen. Amos Yadlin, was quoted as saying in the Haaretz daily on Thursday. That really doesn't put much within their range other than Athens, Greece; Bucharest, Romania; and Kiev, Ukraine. Hardly the most tempting of targets.
The missiles, purchased from North Korea, have a range of 1,550 miles and are capable of carrying nuclear warheads, Haaretz reported.
However, Moscow is within range. So is the entire middle east and most of central Asia. One would think the rotting Saudi, Kuwaiti, Jordanian, and Persian Gulf monarchies like the UAE would be just a tad nervous about this, given that Iran loathes them all. Also in range are Turkey and Egypt, two other nations that aren't on Iran's "we love you" list. There are also two other nuclear powers in range: Israel and Pakistan.
Is it really going to take an Iranian nuclear test before anyone will admit there's a problem? What about when they increase the range of those missles? Maybe when Paris and Berlin are within reach?
Are you ready for the mushroom cloud?
