In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first [day] of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.
His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:
And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead [men].
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
- Matthew 28.1-6
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? - 1 Corinthians 15.55
He is Risen Indeed...

Thanks for this. God bless, and happy Easter.
What Doug said, I second that. And glad to have found your blog, and the existence of such as yourself. God bless.
In humility, and apart from my usual cynicism, I am gateful for your citings.
Jesus loves you tedinla. Why? I have no absolutely no idea.
And tedinla, I also suggest that if you don't like what I post or believe that you just go straight to ... Disney.com from now on.
You mean Jesus Gonzales, the neighbor's gardener?
Grow up, dude...there's no giant invisible daddy in the sky, The Jesus Christ myth is only a remake of previous deity myths (with a few revisions here and there), your bible is fiction and your religion is used to control the brainless masses. It blows my mind that seemingly rational people allow themselves to believe in a bunch of crap that did not and could not have happened!
Rising from the dead after 3 days? What about the bloating? The putrescense of the rotting body? Surely after that much time, enough decomposition had taken place to make ol' JC pretty ripe. How come no one mentions it to him?
It's bullshit. It is insane to believe such obvious crap.
Tell me--when was the last time good ol' Jesus stopped by for a beer? What color hair does your Yahweh have? Any Angels offered to pick you up and take you on a little joy-flight? When's the last time any of them posed for a photo-op?
I didn't think so...
And no worries. I know how you people hate to have the ridiculous pointlessness of your religion and the non-existence of your deity. So I'll go to Disney where at least they are smart enough to know that their rodent leader doesn't really exist.
What happened to you Ted? What made you so horribly bitter? I think something really sad must have happened in your life.
Yes something really bad happened to me. It was horrible and it changed my outlook completely and forever. I hate to even think about it, because it was so damaging, and there seems to be no way to stop the evil it continues to inflict upon people without hesitation.
It's called religion.
P.S. Don't think I didn't notice how deftly you dodged my questions. You people never answer a direct question--it's always smoke and mirrors, bob and weave, distract and deceive, distortions and lies, manipulation and control....
Ted, I can't answer your questions about God. You're the only one that knows what you're looking for and only you will know when you find it.
But I can and do respect your right to not believe.
Of course, you nor anyone else will answer my questions, because to answer them would compell you to admit that your religion is based in fantasy!
Never has a religious person ever had the balls to answer any serious legitimate questions regarding their "beliefs" when I've posed them. They don't (and you don't) because there is no intellectually honest, rational or believeable answers for the assertions religion puts forth. There are far too many holes in the mythology.
If you heard the myths for the first time as an adult--if you had not grown up being assured by society of the basis in "fact" of these fables-- you would think that the person telling you that stuff was insane or just really, really gullible to believe it.
And you'd be right.
Which is why I cannot and do not respect the intellect of those who build their lives around this crap. I would never deny them the right to believe in myths if that's what they choose, but it would be like respecting someone for believing that Grimm's Fairy Tales were true.
And it would really not be a problem at all if religion did not foist itself upon the world at large and try to shape and control the lives of all people--whether they believe the bullshit or not. But it does. To the point of ostracizing, torturing, silencing or eliminating those who refuse to accept it.
Religion is a scourge. You can dress it up in niceties and platitudes and greeting card sayings as much as you like, but it is harmful and breeds intolerance and if people would use their intellect and quit ignoring the pathetic fallacy of their religious beliefs, the world would be a much more tolerant and rational place.
Ted,
We both know this isn't about the questions you've asked. You aren't looking for answers, you're looking for ammunition - and you've obviously got plenty already.
What makes you so bitter that you live in a constant state of offense over other people's faith?
Your atheism is of no consequence to me; why is my faith such a thorn in your side?
Once again, a dodge. Do none of you religious people have enough confidence in your beliefs to try and explain them?
As I said the reason religion is a thorn in my side is because it's followers foist their beliefs upon everyone, foster intolerance and hatred disguised as "loving care and concern," and it is used to try and control the actions and thoughts and wallets of the weak-minded masses. Among many, many other reasons.
Next time a legislator stands up and proclaims that he is taking an action based on "what the bible says" or "what god wants," ask yourself again why religion is a thorn in my side. Or a book gets banned. Or a country goes to war.
But I think you probably already know most of the reasons why it's a thorn in my side. You ask the question only to avoid answering mine. Quite a common avoidance technique.
No wonder I have little respect for your religion. Not a one of you have the courage of your convictions to explain, defend or justify your infantile beliefs in the face of rational, cold hard reality.
Instead, you cluck your tongues, cast a patronizing look, repeat your bromides and denigrate and marginalize the incredulous.
Why wouldn't that be a thorn in one's side?
Ted - I can't answer your questions because faith cannot be explained, it can only be experienced. If you expect science to explain faith, then you understand neither science nor faith.
As for legislating religion - I'm against it. As I'm against book banning, and unjustified war.
As for foisting ideas on you - I've done no such thing. Rather you have come to my blog foisting your ideas, and bromides, and insults, and bitterness on me. This blog is about me and my opinions and beliefs. I'm sorry you don't like it, but quite honestly - I don't care. If you don't like it, I encourage you to go someplace you feel more comfortable.
I feel very sad for you Ted. There's something in you that you don't like, but the anger and hatred isn't going to help you fix it.
Perhaps it's Satan. Maybe I'm infested with demons. Call me an excorcist, quick!
In answer to your remarks:
• I said nothing about science explaining faith. I said that there's no rational or logical foundation for what religion professes. It's feeble-minded and dopey.
• I understand what faith is--what I cannot fathom is why someone would place faith in such an unbelieveable myth, and ignore anything which would show how ridiculous and untrue the myth is.
Your "faith cannot be explained" canard is weak and a cop-out. Everything I've asked is answerable. You just seem to be afraid of what the answers imply.
• The President of this country invokes religion into his decisions, actions and statements constantly. Don't tell me that you don't support him. And he's not the only one....
• I made my comments in answer to your questions and remarks to me. If you're uninterested in being challenged or don't care what people think of your observations, I suggest you remove the comments area.
Or just be more honest and say upfront that you only want comments from people who will support your observations without question.
I said that there's no rational or logical foundation for what religion professes.
You're right.
The President of this country invokes religion into his decisions, actions and statements constantly.
Yes he does. All leaders do. All people do. Everyone believes in something.

I'll do as I please on my blog. You're always free to comment and I hope you do whenever it so pleases you. I'll never censor you or "ban" you. I just don't understand you're anger? You don't want me to answer your questions. What you want is for me to agree with you; and I cannot. It is you who want people to support your observations without question.
I don't care what you believe in - why are you so concerned with my beliefs?

Meaning, what? That you'll be dishonest with regard to the sort of comments you want? No one asked you not to do as you please. But if "what you please" causes me to become nauseated and there's an open comm, ent section, don't knock me for making a comment.
If I did not want an answer to my questions I wouldn't have asked them. Your dancing around them has become boring.
I don't really care about what you,. in particular believe. I just happened to read your post at a point where I had some time and felt like expressing the revulsion I felt.
So continue in your blind ignorance. Enjoy. But I still think it's dumb.
I'm sorry I couldn't help you Ted. I'm not sure what hurt has caused your bitterness, perhaps I'm not meant too, but I hope you find an answer to it somewhere.
And Ted, God bless you.
