Things That Make You Go "El Hmm-o"

If they really love Mexico so fucking much why don't they go live there? Oh wait, because it's a dirty, polluted, poverty stricken, rat infested, corruption filled, third world mouth to Hell.

Still, that's so not my problem.

*****U P D A T E*****

However, what could be a problem for all of us, as Michelle Malkin points out, is that "Many interesting characters are showing up at the illegal alien demonstrations against immigration enforcement. Black Panthers. A.N.S.W.E.R. agitators. And...America-bashing Muslim activists."

Now what possible reason could those groups have for supporting the illegal protests of illegal alien supporters agitating for the continued illegal presence of millions of illegal immigrants? How about the destablization of American government and society? Nah, radical communist and islamofascist groups couldn't possibly want that! Could they?

Hi Like your blog. I think you're beng a bit unfair to Mexico it's not THAT bad (certainly not a third world hellhole there's a lot worse). As long as you have a much poorer country as a neighbor and demand for unskilled work (which we do) you're going to have migration and that's not necessarily bad. It could be a lot worse, our southern neighbor could be oh say Pakistan, and instead of working (which they do and quite hard the illegal aliens could be "failed asylum seekers" living on state benefits, as in the UK and Europe. Mexico is very slowly getting to the point where it will be rich enough to take some of the pressure off. I guess what really ticks me off about this is not necessarily the hard working illegals (who should not be rewarded for being in the US illegally, hence to the back of the line behind everyone who's trying to follow the law, until then work permits) what ticks me off is that the usual "multiculturalism is great suspects" on the left are trying to hitch their wagon to this and this goes from the relatively sane (New York Times although if some laws are optional as they seem to believe I wonder how they'd react to people deciding not to pay taxes) to the unhinged America haters (average campus radicals ANSWER etc) I dislike the demonstrations but they have not been violent and there have been waving mostly American flags. The Mexican Flag wavers and upside-down US flag clowns are more likely ANSWER morons and their multicultural Us-born freinds. Anyway regardless, if we are going to have some process of regularization it will not work unless

a) Mexico continues to get richer
b) We are serious about enforcing immigration law, albeit a reasonable one (we need more greencards for unskilled, but especially skilled labor)
c) We find an equitable way to deal with the illegals already here

Let the dems be the race demagougues in this (they've already placed the bulk of the illegals as part of the liberal hacienda, victims that only the democrats can help, sort of like lighter skinned blacks, which is also a demeaning view of blacks). Republicans should recognize that these people work, and that they are fundamentally conservative and family oriented in their personal values. Don't reward them for breaking the law, but don't alienate them and the broader hispanic population either.

PS I think the reps were close to succeeding which is why Harry Reid decided to obstruct

sorry to ramble

You quoted Ann Coulter! You can't possibly be popuar with many gays doing that!

I wish I'd looked at this stuff before.

It would have helped to see more about who I was talking to in the Malcontent blog.

I'm ashamed to admit that I pictured you as more like a Sean Hayes type, only conservative, but you don't have "gayface" like he does. (Just a joke.)

And you are actually conservative.

I like you even more, now.

Unfair to Mexico? I hardly think so. If it wasn't a third world shit hole (and believe me I've been there - outside the tourist zones) then their people wouldn't be risking life and limb to get out.
