Voters took a decidedly conservative stance on many of the ballot initiatives and constitutional amendments put forth on Tuesday, including limiting eminent domain, barring illegal immigrants from certain government programs, and rejecting gay marriage. While a few liberal to moderate proposals were also approved (namely raising the minimum wage, limiting smoking in public, and raising taxes), the Democrats should take the results as a reminder that this is very much a center-right nation; liberal social engineering is not welcome or wanted.
