Note To The United States Congress:
There is no such thing as a "no-confidence" vote in the United States political system. You are in CONGRESS not PARLIAMENT. The 100 braniacs in the United States Senate confirmed Attorney General Gonzales, now you're stuck with him. If you want to get rid of him, impeach him. But oh wait, you know that would never happen. The President is right, this is nothing but "pure political theater", and quite ridiculous if you ask me.

I was wondering why the vote...what does "no-confidence" do but waste time they could be using to wisely govern.
honestly, I don't mind the waste of time. If they are wasting time on this kind of nonsense, then they aren't pushing through some god awful health care reform or some such thing.
Now that's a good point Pink Elephant!
Govern wisely? They're politicians, heowikki, they don't dabble in such things :-)
Absolutely. Democrats knew that they were going to have to; ONCE AGAIN, re-nig on their nonsense about pulling our troops out of Iraq when it came up for vote last week. What better way to take attention away from that than holding a "no-confidence" vote for Gonzales!
I'm sure glad those Democrats are getting things done and that the "rubber stamp Senate" (as proclaimed by Boxer to describe the last Senate) was not there. I mean, they might have been voting on silly sidebar issues like tougher immigration laws, how to win in Iraq, how to utilize new energy, how to balance the budget, etc.
But thank God we have the Democrats - the really important stuff like this will not slip past Joe Biden!
LOL.
