Sitting here at my desk without the television or iPod blaring it occurred to me that before the electronic age life must have been very, very, quiet. In say, 1807 it was probably a treat to go and see a play or hear a concert, or just have a long conversation. Now with media blaring at us constantly throughout the day - the opposite seems true. I think I'll leave the TV, cellphone, and music off the rest of the day...maybe read a book instead, or just sit and think...
