This has got to be the
biggest pile of horse manure that Joe My God has ever thrown up on the internet. And that's saying something...
As
Robbie at the Malcontent said:
I’m gay. So how much loyalty, exactly, do I owe other gay people? How much monetary loyalty do I owe other gay people? Is there a special queer tithe?
Reading a piece like this, I realize that gays aren’t really my people because I don’t feel this fierce, narrow partiality to such a niche political ideology. JMG is an excellent writer, but he is militantly gay and leftist. That’s a tiny subset of humanity. Hell, that’s a small subset of gay people. But an opinion like his betrays a radical who believes his fealty to a specialized way of thinking must apply to all gays, and any who betray it are simply rotten human beings.
Let's replace gay with a few other things and see what we get...
I’m not interested in whatever charities Merv Griffin may have supported. He did not support us, right handers, his people. Merv Griffin was successful singer. A successful TV personality. A successful entrepreneur. But as as a right handed man, as a human being, he was a failure.
I’m not interested in whatever charities Merv Griffin may have supported. He did not support us, people who can wiggle their ears, his people. Merv Griffin was successful singer. A successful TV personality. A successful entrepreneur. But as as an ear wiggling man, as a human being, he was a failure.
I’m not interested in whatever charities Merv Griffin may have supported. He did not support us, double jointed men, his people. Merv Griffin was successful singer. A successful TV personality. A successful entrepreneur. But as as a double jointed man, as a human being, he was a failure.
So let me see if I've got this straight (pardon the pun): I'm supposed to be "gay" before I'm a human being? I'm supposed to be "gay" to the exclusion of anything else? Gay, gay, gay, all the live long day? No thanks. To echo Robbie, the "Joe My Gods" of the world ain't my people.
