Uh Oh Canada's Health Care Monopoly
Canadian gub'mint healthcare: precarious...
The incoming president of the Canadian Medical Association says this country's health-care system is sick and doctors need to develop a plan to cure it.Now, the Canadian doctors aren't calling for an end to their "universal" - but not readily available and crumbling - health care system, but the changes proposed bring them closer to our way. We should take note of that. One other thing, BigDog (blogging at RightWingSparkle) warns us not to get complacent just because it seems we've won a couple of victories in this fight against statism.
Dr. Anne Doig says patients are getting less than optimal care and she adds that physicians from across the country - who will gather in Saskatoon on Sunday for their annual meeting - recognize that changes must be made.
"We all agree that the system is imploding, we all agree that things are more precarious than perhaps Canadians realize," Doing said in an interview with The Canadian Press.
