God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen - Jars of Clay - listen now

Friday, December 16, 2005

I'm sorry you think my post was mocking, that wasn't my intent. As I've said repeatedly in the discussion I am genuinely shocked at what was said. How else is one supposed to take the statement "Maybe not all the aspects of the Crips are bad. Maybe a gang gives young urban kids a sense of pride that they wouldn’t have otherwise." Those words were and are horribly shocking to me. As well as the comments that Steve posted.

With that said, I should have asked you if I could post about the discussion we are having. That was big mistake on my part, and I apologize.

I have removed the post and am including a link to the discussion instead. However, I will not refrain from expressing my shock at statements which even in small part could be interpreted to set gangs in a positive light.
