The White House today called Pat Robertson's remarks about Ariel Sharon's illness "wholly inappropriate and offensive." From
Washingtonpost.com:
White House press spokesman Trent Duffy made the comment to reporters traveling on Air Force One with President Bush this morning. He added that Robertson's comments "don't have a place in this or any other debate."
Duffy also told reporters the president is praying for Sharon's full recovery.
The Israeli prime minister, 77, is in a medically induced coma in a Jerusalem hospital after suffering a massive stroke Wednesday. He is in critical condition.
Robertson based his stupidity on the Book of Joel which says God has enmity against those who "divide my land." I find it heartening that every time Robertson opens his yapper these days he is immediately repudiated and has to backtrack or back down. It shows a maturity among Christians, and all Americans really, that a certain other religion and culture sorely lacks.
