Poll: South Korean Youths Back North Korea

From Breitbart:
Nearly half of South Korean youths who will be old enough to vote in the country’s next elections say Seoul should side with North Korea if the United States attacks the communist nation, according to a poll released Wednesday.

At the same time, 40.7 percent of the 1,000 young people surveyed said Seoul should remain neutral in the event of hostilities between Washington and Pyongyang, according to the poll by The Korea Times and Hankook Ilbo dailies. Only 11.6 percent said the South should back its longtime U.S. ally.
This is excellent news. The United States could withdraw all of their troops from South Korea and send them to other parts of the world. It would reduce the pressure on manpower in Iraq and allow us to more aggressively hunt down al Qaeda. I say we start the draw down of our Korean deployed troops as soon as possible with the goal of total withdrawal by the end of 2006. Then we tell Kim Jong-il that if he will cease his nuclear weapons program and allow United Nations inspections of the sites, we won’t oppose his reunification of the two Koreas. It’s win-win for everyone.

Remember that the US is divided about 50/50 on a lot of issues as well.

I'm tempted to say let 'em fend for themselves and see just how much they'd love being under Krazy Kim.

But South Korea isn't divided 50/50 on this. Half say they would side with North Korea (!!!), and only 11% say they would side with the US. That's a far cry from 50/50.

I have South Korean friends, many of whom go to my church. But if this is their attitude, then I say withdraw the troops and let Kim Jong Il consume their country and wreck their economy. They obviously deserve it.
