I Think The Word You're Looking For Is: Hypocrite

Good grief! Okay Sully, what gives? While you were on vacation one of your guest bloggers called for the torture of Zaccharias Moussaoui. Specifically that he should be "torn apart by ferrets, or thrown into a cell with a large, surly redneck with a scorching case of xenophobia who would help him learn pain and terror firsthand."

Now if I say that sounds like damn cool idea - that's called consistency. But if you, Andrew, say that the guest blogger is "sharp as nails" and a "decent, lovely" person, well that just smacks of flip-flopping at best and outright hypocrisy at worst.

As Josh at The Conjecturer puts it:

So why is torture not okay when the government talks about it? I mean, can Rummy be a “decent, lovely person” despite his background with prisoner abuse (all of which is kinder than what Sully’s guest suggested)?

I agree with Josh's take on the current state of Sully's blog: "His site has descended into a gigantic act of masturbation, and I’m shocked disappointed Time would fund such trash."

I remember how excited I was when I found "The Daily Dish" for the first time. Sullivan spoke to me, and sometimes for me. Unfortunately his blog has become nothing more than an electronic ego trip for a big ol' attention whore.
