Duke Lacrosse Player Speaks Out
It is the first on-camera interview with a Duke lacrosse player since the story of the alleged rape broke. The player, who did not want his identity revealed, said there was no rape at the March 13 party and is defending the coach and the team.I only completely believe every word he and the other lacrosse players are saying. What with the atm video, the phone records, witnesses, and the biased line-up that DA Nifong used for the victim to identify the accused. The boys story is holding water, while the stripper...can't say the same. Her only witness, the second stripper has admitted she's in this to get something out of it (first and foremost a plea deal, and then money of course). Also, there are photos of the accuser arriving at the party injured and effed up, she's made similar accusations in the past only to have the cases dropped when she didn't follow through on her initial claims, and there is no corroboration of her version of the timeline.
Nifong has won his re-election, he should drop the charges and move on.

Well, they are innocent until proven guilty, aren't they? All I said is so far the evidence seems to be in their favor. That could very well change of course. That's why we have trials.
You however, have done the truly dangerous thing here - you've convicted them already and I doubt you'd be swayed from that opinion no matter what the facts come to be.
One thing that has come to light (again) because of this little drama, is that the accused in a rape case deserves the same identity protection that the accuser gets by law. And, it should be a felony with severe penalties to make false charges of rape.
