Judge To Moussaoui: You Will Die With A Whimper

U.S. District Judge Leonie Brinkema told Zacarias Moussaoui "you will die with a whimper," never allowed to speak publicly again, as she sentenced him to life in prison.

Barring an unforeseen circumstance, Moussaoui will be sent to a maximum federal prison in Colorado under special conditions that will prevent him from having any contact with the outside world.

I was a bit disappointed in the verdict. I'm sure it was the work of some bleeding heart juror(s), moved by the stories of poor Moussaoui's abused childhood where he suffered the slings and arrows of "racism" and the wrath of an abusive father. Boo Fucking Hoo, right?

Still, we are a nation of laws, and those laws were adhered too - even for someone we revile. The jury's verdict will be respected regardless of how we feel about it. That makes us better than the Islamists. Although, as I told Patrick last night, I'd like to see him fed pork - and nothing but pork - for the rest of his life and to be awakened nightly at random intervals by the Star Spangled Banner at 200 decibels.

Oh, and notice the AP headline - Moussaoui: U.S. Will Never Catch Bin Laden - a minor blip in the story, but since it's a dig at the U.S. the AP felt the need to focus on it.

There's also this little paragraph:

French authorities said Thursday they may eventually press the United States to have Moussaoui serve his life sentence in France under two conventions on the transfer of convicts. They were waiting to hear the conditions of his sentencing.

Oh not just "no," but "HELL NO." Moussaoui would be on the street and headed back to the desert within a week. Dear God, please don't let our government turn him over to the Surrender Monkeys.
